WARRANTY INFORMATION

At AVI, we stand behind our work - that’s why each new roof or gutter system we’ve installed comes with its own AVI Workmanship Warranty.

You can rest easy knowing your new system is covered and protected.

AVI’s Workmanship Warranty

AVI’s Workmanship warranty covers possible poor workmanship defects and improper installation on roof and gutter projects. The duration of the warranty depends on the system installed. (See Below for an Overview).

Our warranty does not cover any issues caused by nature, such as hail or wind damage, lightning strikes, floods, fires, blizzards, defective materials or any damages caused by other trades. In these events, the warranty is voided.

Manufacturers’ Warranties

Your manufacturer warranty covers the integrity of the materials. These warranties vary, and coverages vary depending on the system installed and the materials used.

It’s important to note the distinction between AVI’s Workmanship warranty (which only covers workmanship) and a manufacturer’s warranty (which covers materials used on your roof system). A manufacturer is responsible for quality materials. If you have a defective system due to poor or degraded materials you must submit a claim with the respective manufacturer. An inspection is usually required to determine and document material defects.

Manufacturers’ do not warranty materials damaged by nature, such as hail or wind damage, lightning strikes, floods, fires, blizzards or any damages caused by other trades. In these events, the warranty is voided.

If you are not sure what workmanship warranty is offered to you, please refer to your original signed contract.

Warranty FAQs

Does AVI cover repairs under warranty?

AVI does not warranty repairs, unless a special warranty was offered on your contract. (EX: AVI did a partial re-roof, the area may be covered under AVI’s workmanship warranty).

AVI does not warranty repairs on roof or gutter systems that were installed by other contractors.

On older roof systems, there may be many reasons that the roof is leaking, including HVAC, plumbing or structural damage. In these cases, AVI is not liable for the integrity of the roof system.

AVI re-roofed part of my building(s), is this partial re-roof covered under warranty?

Yes! The area that AVI re-roofed is covered under our workmanship warranty for the full duration of the warranty. Areas that AVI did not work on are not covered under our workmanship warranty.

I want to install a skylight or solar on my AVI Roof, does this void my warranty?

No! However, any 3rd party damage to our roof or gutter systems is not covered by our workmanship warranty. Undamaged areas are still covered under our warranty.

There is water leaking from my bathroom vent, what should I do? Is this a warranty item?

One of two occurrences may be happening. First, the leak can be caused by wind driven moisture. Either from rain blowing sideways into the vent and coming down; or snow blowing into the vent or being sucked in.

The second reason is condensation. This happens when it is cold outside and homeowners turn on their vent in the bathroom during a shower.  The moisture goes up the vent and then freezes and then once the fan is off and the temperature warms up the ice melts and drips back down the pipe.

If neither of these conditions have been met, the leak may be caused by something else on the roof system and AVI will be happy to inspect the issue for you.

There is water leaking from my attic vent, what should I do? Is this a warranty item?

The leak can be caused by wind driven moisture. Either from rain blowing sideways into the vent and coming down; or snow blowing into the vent or being sucked in.

If the vent is still leaking after rain or snow, please contact AVI and we will be happy to help!
